my-review-of-mixed-streets-an-online-store-just-for-biracial-childrenI stumbled across this information just this morning, and I could not wait to tell you all about it. This is the first time that I have found a place that has everything in one spot for biracial children.

Mixed streets is an easy to use website that only sells products for mixed race children. Many of these can be found in stores, but they are often items that you would have to hunt down or pay a fortune for. I found that everything on the site was reasonable, so I kept looking.

This is what I found:

Biracial Hair Care

When you go to the hair page their promise is fast shipping on products blended specifically for our children’s hair. You can search by age or by product. They offer everything from conditioners to moisturizers, shampoos to styling products. There are also detanglers and accessories tabs. Some of the products offered are Shea Moisture, Curly Q’s and Mixed Chicks. They even offer satin pillowcases, hair brushes, hair ties and more.

Skin care for Biracial Children

Skincare is too often overlooked, but at this online store they have really thought it through. The have creams, lotions and oils available. I did find that there were not many to choose from, but the brand was a good one. It is also something I rarely see in stores where I live, so again, having it all in one place was a super win! The kicker is that the prices are not outrageous. Usually those hard to find items are crazy expensive.

My Favorites are the Books and the Toys

Have you ever dealt with the relentless struggle of finding the perfect toys for your child? The ones that truly make them feel special? Maybe you are seeking out a book to help them better grasp their little questions and have characters that look just like they do. Well, this store seems to have that figured out. You can search through these products according to age, and there are a lot of great titles there to choose from!

There are some dolls available for little girls in different shades with different hair colorings and textures. I was not really super ecstatic about the doll qualities but the effort to put it together was nice, The book selection has my vote hands down! I want pretty much all of them.

Again, most of the items can be found in stores, but the fact that they are in one easy to get to place makes moms life easier. The prices are not too high either. In my opinion Mixed Streets truly is a great find for parents of biracial children. ~Spring

  1. Maybe you (or your readers) would like my book, “Mommy, Why’s Your Skin So Brown?” It is about my children questioning why their skin color differed from mine and why strangers often assumed I was their nanny. It’s available on Amazon.com. Feedback welcome! Thanks!

    1. Hi Maria,

So glad I got to meet you at the mixedremixed festival. I haven’t gotten a chance to buy and review the books but I will for sure. I’m sure our readers
would benefit from the book as well. Reggie

    1. Yes, I’m editing one of his as we speak. I’m going to have to tell him to pump it up….you’re not the only one asking
      about his blogs :).
